"I previously purchased your original Stretch Classic jeans (with tapered legs) for many years at my local JC Penney store. A number of months ago I stopped at my local store to purchase several pairs of the classic stretch and to my dismay found that the only way to obtain them now is by ordering through the catalog as the retail stores do not carry them. I ordered six pairs anticipating their arrival only to find after receiving them that they are NOT cut the same as the Classic Stretch that you used to carry in your stores. The fit is completely different. They are approx. one inch wider at the bottom of the legs, They don't fit the same through the hips, rise and waist as your old style and I find them varying from 1/2" to 1" shorter in the leg. I'm sending them back! I have searched high and low to try and find a JC Penney that may still have some of these jeans. The original Classic Stretch fit was a perfect fitting jean for me. PLEASE PLEASE bring them back. You used to carry the dark navy and stone washed. ... Had I known they were being discontinued I would of purchased a lifetime worth of your Original Classic Stretch jean.

"Not the greatest jeans, but a good value for us ultra-tall gals. Would like to see darker colors available year round, like chocolate brown, black, dark denim, instead of , or in addition to, these Easter Egg colors every Spring! The fit seems to vary with different colors too, which is kinda strange. I have several pairs/colors of these and the zippers tend to slide down on some of them. Overall quality not as good as it was years ago. Nevertheless, here I am, buying some more... thank you, Pennys, for supplying Ultra Talls. Just a few little tweaks, and we'll all be happy."

"Even though I ordered ultra tall, these jeans are still a little short in the rise. When I first put them on they fit fairly well but after an hour they started stretching out. I washed and dried them on hot 6 times to see if they would tighten up but that did not help. By the end of the day all I need is a pair of boxer shorts and I would look like the young kids with their pants down to their knees. A smaller size will not work since the waist sits below the waist not at it. as advertised."

"I have purchased several pairs of these jeans in the denim and the colors, and love the look and fit overall. But my denim fits looser than the colored jeans, and the colored jeans differ from each other in fit. The black and red jeans fit me tighter than the washed blue. I had once sent a pair back thinking the sizing was wrong since the other pair from the same order had a looser fit. I'm not sure of the reason behind the discrepency but am aware of this now when ordering this style."

"I don't normally iron my jeans, but these MUST be ironed. That is my only complaint though, I love the color selections and the fact they come in a 6 Tall size. I ordered 2 pair - Pistachio and Stone. The Pistachio were backordered, but I got the Stone colored ones. The fit was perfect, I hope the other pair doesn't vary much. The Stone color is kind of strange, has an orange-ish hue. Definitely is not khaki or the usual greyish light khaki. Looks great with bright Coral tops."

"Since JC Penney no longer carries this line of jeans in their stores, it is impossible to try them on to see if they fit. I tried on several other St. John's Bay styles and my regular size 10 fit. When I received these, I could hardly get them zipped, so I had to return them to the store and order a size 12. They also seem to hit slightly below the waist, or perhaps the rise is a bit short. I wish Penney's would bring back the quality and fit these jeans had a few years ago."

"I have ordered these in past & was pleased. Recent ones are not the same quality. Appears to be thinner material & same-size size is definitely a bit smaller. I am seeing this same reduced-quality comment on other St. John's Bay jeans. Please bring back the old quality & previous option of black. Apparently your suppliers have been changed & are cutting corners. I would personally pay MORE to have the old jean quality (& in black) back!"

"I don't like tight jeans so I brought a larger size and they are so comfortable. I am buying my 4th pair as I love the colors to add to my summer wardrobe. I need talls and these are more then long enough. When I wear them I get a lot of positive comments. I like too that they are thinner for the warmer weather. I will be looking to see if they come out with some winter colors when the winter colors come into season."

"These are one of the best fitting jeans I've bought in a long time. I am 5'10" and size 18 so it is very hard to find comfortable jeans in my size and not spend alot of money. The minute I put them on, they were comfortable. I've washed them several times but never put them in the dryer for fear of shrinkage and they still look terrific. I am going to buy more in the other colors!"

"I purchased these jeans twice:in 2008 & 2009. the 2008 pairs were [still are] great so I got them again in 2009. These stretch out so much that I can now take them off w/o unzipping them. they look baggy & horrible making them fit to walk my dog in the AM only. They are also made very cheaply & are flalling apart way too soon [3 months is too soon]. Proceed w/eyes opened only."

"I really have no complaints........ these jeans are the only ones I'll buy. I'm only 5'2" tall and nobody has jeans that fit me. They wear really well plus they are very comfortable. I have bought this style and the St. John's Bay® Stretch Bootcut Jeans exclusively over the last few years. They are all I wear to work and for play. I'm glad to I can still find them at JCPenney!"

"I have purchased these jeans for as long as I can remember becakuse the quality and fit were great. When you find a jean that fits you well, you keep on purchasing them. The last time I ordered these jeans, I noticed the quality was not the same, a much thinner fabric. I would like the OLD weight material back. I will not purchase these jeans again until they change back."

"I agree with the person who said she wishes Penney's would once again offer this jean in a size 16 petite. It's hard to find that combo, and I haven't had any luck elsewhere. I've had my other pair for a couple/few years (can't remember exactly), but they're beginning to show some wear and I really wish that the 16WP in this particular jean would make a comeback!"

"I have had my jeans for several years and they are looking pretty worn and I keep hoping they will bring back the 16 petites but they don't seem like they want to. I have tried several other makes but I can't find any I like better. I'll keep searching because I have to. Please bring back the size 16 in these and the new stretch ones that you carry."

"I agree with the other review that they are not what they use to be. I use to order these pants for work all the time. They changed their pattern or something. They are shorter and the legs are (for sure) wider around. The picture of this jeans is not what you get. I am not happy with my purchase of these jeans any more and have sent them back."

"What happen? I have always bought these jeans for my job for the last five years! The jeans have the same style # as my old ones and the color (Stone) is now a yellow tint to it instead of the Khaki color.(color diff. from pic.) Quality is poor. Also made in different country! I am very disappointed! Shame on you St Johns Bay Co.!"

"Fit is good. I had to get a size 8 in the capris, so I thought I should get 8 in these, WRONG! They are HUGE and keep getting bigger as the day goes on. I'm going to have to get size 6 and return the 8's. I love the colors, have been looking for a pair of white for a long time...now I have all the colors"

"I have a slim build, 5'6" and ordered a white pair in 8T. The fit is perfect. I was surprised with the fabric. The jeans are cotton, poly, spandex - and are a lighter fabric than REAL denim. Still I like them and plan to order another pair so I'll have something to wear after Labor Day (no white)."
