"These are the corduroy pants I have been searching for. Most petite pants have gone from 29.5 or 30 inches to as short as 29 or even 28.5 inches, a pet peeve of mine since regular and tall pants have gotten longer to accommodate heeled shoes or boots. At 29.5 these are the perfect length. The secretly slender feature means every time I wear them someone asks if I have lost weight. The waist is low enough to be youthful, but not too low - they stay up. I would have a pair in each color - as it is I have only been able to find beige and white in my size, 8 petite. PLEASE make more of these - do NOT change the fit or cut."

Cons: does't sit "at waist"
"I have bought these pants in the past as well and like the fit much better this year. They hold the shape much better and don't bulge or get baggy at the hips/butt/thighs. They are longer than last year which I like being petite although I think 29" would have been perfect. I don't however agree that they sit at waist. I would like them to come up a little bit higher on the stomach - I always seem to have a problem with the back sticking out a little bit."

Disappointed in Fit

Cons: the fit was dissappointing
"Over the past several years I have purchased several pairs of your store brand cords. I found them to be comfortable and stylish. This past winter I purchased the updated secretly slender version. I was dissappointed to find that theywere restrictive in the knee area and felt that they had little give and overall seem to run smaller then there older version. I find that the pockets are restrictive and make the pants feel to small. I felt that I needed a larger size to get the same results as the older version and I am not pleased about that."

"I have also purchased these pants for the past 3 years. I ordered the same size as in the past and this years fit is much snugger. I had to return them (at my expense) to get a bigger size. Defeated the fact I got them on sale, having to pay to return them. Please go back to making them the way you have in the past and state that in your description so I know when to purchase them again."

Secretly Slender Cord Pant

"I just had to try these cords. I got them, tried them on and fell in love with them. As the day wore on, however, the pants started getting loose and were sliding down. I kept having to pull them up. When I first tried them on, they fit perfectly aside from the length which was a little on the long side and I am 5'7". So, as I said, as the day wore on, they became more and more loose so they got even longer to the point where I was walking on the back of the pant legs. I will either have to hem these, put them in the washer in hot water and into the dryer and hope that will snug them up a little. I plan to purchase a couple more pairs but will order the next size down. Overall, a great deal."

Cons: fit...too long for regular sizes
"I have ordered these cords for the past three years and love them but this year they do not fit like they used to. They are two inches too long for the regular fit. I am disappointed. The petites are too short so that is not an option. The fit is not as comfortable either like the pairs I purchased the past two years. I prefer the fit of the previous years to the fit of the this year. Please go back to that the original styling."

"I have these pants in every color but gray and for some reason I cant find them or get them in that color in a size 8. I will say the ones I ordered this year are different than the ones from last year. They dont stretch as well and they are about 2 inches longer for some reason. I still love these cords but I still wear the ones from last year and they are much better than the newer ones. I did not have to shorten last years but this years I needed to shorten the exact same size that I bought last year. Cant figure out why they did that."

Cons: 291/2 is too long for a petite, they also stretch out
"I bought these pants before and I loved them. I ordered another pair and when i tried them on they were so long. I looked at the length and they were changed from 28" to 291/2" inseam. I had to hem them and I never have to sew petite pants. Go back to the original sizing. Also, they run large and do stretch out while being worn. i need to wear a belt, because after an hour, they feel like they are falling down."

"I really like this. Got my first pair last month and getting another one now. I am 6'2" and love that these were so long I could create a cuff! They hang beautifully too. I went to a local store because online it said "available in stores". I was so dissapointed that there were no talls in the store that I decided to put back a few items I was going to buy. I would love to see this pant in a twill for spring/summer. The waist runs a bit big. I don't mind though. Also, I put through the full wash and full dry cycle and they did not shrink. No iron needed."

"These pants used to be perfect. The updated cut/fit just doesn't work for me. The legs are several inches longer than the old version and I don't see the slenderize panel doing anything except messing up normal pockets. Now you almost have a shallow kangaroo pouch across the front of the pants. I'm not a big fan of the flared out leg either but I could deal with that if the rest of the fit was unchanged. This just drives home the lesson that if you find something that you like, you should buy about ten pair while you can still get them.
I will say the material is nice and the color selection is excellent. If you were a little turned off by the older cut these pants might be right up your alley. If so, take my advice and buy a bunch now before they change them again."

"I loved the SJB cords I got last year. The fit was perfect. However the cut this year is not the same. They are far slimmer, especially through the thighs. Even going up a size did not work because the cut was different. Bring back the old style please!"

"I BOUGHT THREE OF THESE, SIZE 16, IN DIFFERENT COLORS. THE ONLY THING I CAN SAY BAD IS THE BLACK ONES FIT TIGHTER THAN THE OTHER TWO COLORS. THEY ALSO SEEM TO NOT "GIVE" AS MUCH AS THE OTHER COLORS DO. THEY DO NOT LOOSEN UP AT ALL WHILE WEARING. I NOTICED A PERSON WROTE IN SAYING THEY HAD PROBLEMS WITH WRINKLES. I DON'T. I JUST WASH IN COLD WATER, DRY FOR 5 MINUTES ON HIGH, THEN PUT ON THE CLOTHES LINE TO DRY COMPLETELY. PERFECT AND NO WRINKLES. LOVE THE PANTS AND THE FIT."

"These pants do NOt, NOT, NOT--did I say NOT?--sit at the waist. The zipper in these pants is 1 inch shorter than my pants that sit at my waist. I am getting so tired of buying JCP pants that are described as sitting at the waist and then having to return them because the do NOT sit at the waist. Please, JCP, accurately describe your products! I wish I could give it ZERO STARS!"
