"Don't buy the Queen size fitted sheet in this set if you expect that it should really fit a standard queen size matress. It was not even close. It was labeled Queen, the Top (flat) sheet was fine, as were the pillow cases. I returned the set as defective."

"These sheets are NOT wrinkle free. I wouldn't even consider them wrinkle RESISTANT. Penneys used to carry the Chris Madden brand in a wrinkle free sheet that lived up to its name. These sheets are no comparison. I WILL NOT BUY THEM AGAIN! Even construction is shoddy. I have to sew one of the seams together and haven't even used the sheets yet. Also, the "cool white" set is not a pure white. It is more of an off white. Penneys has consistently gone down hill in the last year. I have been a customer for over 40 years but this is the last straw for me. Bye, bye JCP!!"

"I have purchased many of these sheet sets over the years ... 3 king size, 3 queen size, 2 full size sets. Up until now, all have been excellent quality. This time, however, after only 2 washes, my recent king size set is of very poor quality (actually, they are very thin ... certainly not 360tc ... more like 200tc or less). I can't imagine these sheets lasting very long at all. I am not happy with them. I should return them. I will not purchase any more of these and will not recommend them to my friends (which I have many times in the past). Wish I knew why the quality has changed."

"Save your money! I bought three sets of these sheets and ALL three have come out of the laundry with huge tears in them within months of buying them...this with gentle detergents, nothing in the washer but the sheets and nothing in the machine that might've created it. So, so disappointed!"

"We have purchased these sheets in the past without a problem, but the new ones are definitely thinner & rougher. My husband referred to the texture as "sandpaper". Nowhere is the difference more apparent than in the pillowcases. We had the old ones on another set of pillows & the new are obviously shoddy, thinner, rougher and have a plain hem. Do not waste your money."

"I experienced 2 of the same problems as other reviewers. Bought a queen set of these sheets, along with extra pillow cases and some king cases for my big hugging pillow. First I found that using prespotter products according to package directions removed color from the sheets and left spots. Then about 7 months after we began using them a big hole appeared at the bottom of the fitted sheet. I went a step further than other reviewers and tried doing an iron on fabric patch, but the sheet was so thin that when next laundered, a big rip appeared beside the patch. I have a front loader washing machine that doesn't pull or twist the laundry, and I always launder sheets by themselves. So now I'm stuck with a top sheet and lots of pillow cases--what a waste of money. The ironic thing is the sheets I returned to using are another of JC Penney's brands, and I've been using them for almost 15 years!! Do yourself a favor and don't waste your money on these."

"At first I loved these sheets! Bought the gold - loved the color. Very luxurious...........felt wonderful. Plus they are nice and deep which helps with our deep mattress. However that was about 7 months ago!! They did not hold up. They became thin and almost overnight had slits on both sides - my husband's side and mine. Looking closer I realized they had wore through. I always buy my sheets from JCP. ALWAYS. I have never had this problem with their sheets. These are not cheap in price. I was very disappointed and angry. I still have sheets as spares that I bought from JCP over 10 years ago and they are in better condition than these sheets. I actually patched them used the extra material from the pillow cases........they look awful but I am holding out until I find sheets that are deep enough and match my comforter I bought that goes with them from JCP."

"I should have known that these sheets were not wrinkle free when I took them out of the package. They were were very wrinkled & even after washing there are permanent creases from packaging. They look like old sheets now that they've been washed--no life to them. I will probable use them as drop cloths--an expensive rag."
Pros do fit over the edges of my California King, but are really overly large

"the fitted sheet was so huge that even on my deep mattress,it was all bunched up. The fabric seemed like some cheap sharkskin suit material, shiny and sort of sleazy feeling and looking. They were not cheap but I guess I'm stuck with them after I have already tied to shrink them in the laundry. wouldn't buy them again. still looking for a good wrinkle free sheet like I used to find years ago 'percale no iron.'"

"I hesitated after reading review, but purchased anyway. The sheets were rough on our face, like fine sandpaper, washed them once the pillow sheets seam ripped, and they wrinkled worse than my cheap sheets. They did fit my mattress however."

"The sheets, when rec'd were very soft and wrinkle free when rec'd. After washing the texture changed and were scratchy. A friend in the chemical industry said that the soft coating washes out and cannot be replaced. I still use the sheets but cannot use the pillow case because it scratches my face."

"I have multiple sets of these sheets and wanted a spare so ordered them and was so incredibly disappointed. They used to be the perfect sheets.. extremely soft and wrinkle free.. now they are nubby, scratchy, thin and wrinkly.. It's so hard to find good sheets and these were it but no more.. Sadly returned them hoping that they still had some of the old ones in the store.. still looking everytime I'm near a JCP to see if I can find the prior sheets."

"When I first bought these sheets 3 or 4 sets ago, they were so nicely soft and smooth – I loved how they felt (even though the durability was not the best – they tend to shred with use). Sadly, by now they cost almost twice as much and are no longer soft. In fact, when I try to move my pillow a few inches across the bed, it actually sticks! Very disappointing. I can only hope they’ll get softer over time (they used to be soft right from the beginning). I did switch back to my old pillowcase because the new one almost hurt my face (I would have changed back to my old sheets but the bottom sheet had shredded, which was the reason for buying new ones in the first place). On the plus side, they do fit well and are somewhat wrinkle “resistant” (I wouldn’t call them “wrinkle-free”, but probably no sheets are)."

"I loved the fitted sheet. But the top sheet needs to be longer on the sides, to make the bed right and tuck the sheet under the mattress. When the company made the top sheet, they did not allow enough width to the top sheet so that it would fit the deep pocket mattress that the bottom sheet fits. Therefore defeating the purpose of buying these sheets for a thick mattress."
