Constructed of solid hardwood and MDF. Twin bed requires XL twin mattress. Assembly required; Allen wrench included.

"Thanks to the previous reviewers! We bought this full bed based on their information. Yes, the bed is not white, or cream: it is white with a green tone to it, as noted by an earlier reviewer. I thought "taupe" when I first saw it. But the color is absolutely fine if you are not matching it to existing off white pieces, which generally have more of a yellow undertone. Yes, no need for a box spring-- the full bed has 8 wooden slats to support a mattress alone - making it a great height for a little girl. My husband was able to assemble it on his own and he said it was one of the easiest beds to put together. VERY well made, very solid and heavy (if I, as a woman, was on my own it would have been hard for me to move the bed pieces around.) The finials screw into the canopy rails to hold the canopy firmly in place (some of the beds we looked at in person the finials just slid into a hole on the rails and the whole canopy top was just "perched.") This is a fabulous bed and with the curtains (84 inch sheers just sweep the floor) and tiebacks it truly is the bed of a little girl's dreams. We physically looked at several beds in the $500 range and they were nice to look at but not constructed of materials the way this one is. We called our local JCPenny and they ordered it for us so we had free shipping to their store and then we just had to transport it (went in the jeep with the largest piece on the roof) to our house (but it is heavy for one person.) I have a whole new respect for JCP and the quality of its furniture. Would definitely shop there again and would buy this bed over and over again. Best choice after looking at hundreds of beds online and about 30 beds in stores."

"The actual look of this bed is much much prettier than what's shown on the internet. And it looks so high end after I dressed it up with my sheer curtains and some fairies to tie each corner. Ithe bed is off white instead of white. This bed made my little girl dream cam true!!!"

"I turned a dull room into a room fit for my 3-year old princess! Her room is lavender with white trim and though as others have said, this furniture is off white, it really isn't that obvious. I purchased the set of the bed, dresser and nightstand and it turned out beautifully! The delivery was also excellent and the men were very nice putting things together and making sure their mess was cleaned up. I loved this purchase!"

"We purchased this item for my daughter for her princess room. I had read the reviews and was expecting the item to be offwhite but that did not prepare me for the actual color of the item. Once we unpacked the item we realized the color was not only offwhite but it appeared to have green undertones next to my daughter's other antique and off white pieces. Though the detail on the piece was pretty and the price was very affordable we decided it was too much money to spend on an item that simply looked out of place. The color of the item made it look cheap and gave it a "plastic" look."

"I bought this bed in full size with trundle for my 2-yr old daughter's room. The bed is sturdy enough and easy to assemble. The design is cute and can go a long way. The color is not exactly white, off-white like mentioned by others, but it still can go with the lavender wall color and pink deco. The price is excellent compared with name brands. The trundle is a bit heavy to pull out/push in on the carpet."

"After months of shopping for a bed for my 2 1/2 year old daughter, I am so glad we choose this bed as opposed to a similar one from Pottery Barn Kids. The quality is amazing and much more beautiful than any bed we have seen. Easy to assemble and agree that a box spring is not needed."

"OMG this was the easiest bed ever to put together (did it all by myself in about 30-45 mins) and it is so cute and my daughter just loves her new "princess" bed. She got this bed for her 3rd birthday and truley thinks shes is a princess with this new bed.
True to all of the other reviews the bed is not a white, white it is more a light navajo white, but is really quite beautiful.
I do hope this bed lasts her until she graduates, I love the way this bed can also have 3 other choices of styles in one bed .......SOOOOOO CUTE"

"We purchased this bed for our 2.5 year old and it is absolutely wonderful. The quality is excellent and it is just a beautiful bed. At first, I was hesitant to purchase it because it was so cheap. But compared to our son's pottery barn bed and our older daughter's much more expensive beds, this bed's quality is right up there. the only complaint I have is that it is not really designed to be used with a box spring, since that will elevate the bed too high for little kids. The other beds have adjustable bed rails that you can adjust to be used with a boxspring or with just a mattress and slates only, this bed one does not have that option. Other than that, its a wonderful bed."

"We bought this bed for our 4 yr. old daughter because she wanted a canopy bed. It's not easy to find canopy beds these days, and the selection in the stores is more than poor. This bed is a very solid, heavy weight! It is an antique white, and if you've never seen antique white, the color is not even close to white. It's more on the beige side. And it is very tall. The trundle style is probably taller than average to accommodate the trundle. I got a painted stool and put bathtub treads on the top to reduce slips. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the bed! It was prettier in person. The 4 posts look skimpy on line, but are much thicker in person. I bought the Emma canopy from Jcpenney also and tab top curtains that fit well on the canopy frame. The canopy frame is wide and flat. Everything arrived well packed and in great shape. We weren't missing anything, nor did we have to replace anything damaged. Overall it was a great purchase and I'm happy we bought it!"

"I love this bed & so does my 2 year old! It is a bit high so you might want to get a bunky board rather than a box spring. It goes together easily & is very sturdy.
For anyone looking for real white this is NOT the bed you want. It is antique white which I was pleasantly surprised by. It matches the Abigail dresser (which is antique white also) perfectly.
It did smell like paint when we took it out of its box but the smell went away after about a day and a half."

"This was bought as my 2 and a half year olds first bed. I assembled it in less than 2 hours while she took her nap. It was VERY easy to assemble and is made of very heavy material. It looks so beautiful and she slept in it the first night. I did buy a step stool for her to get into the bed, but she absolutely loves it! It is very antique looking and very girly!"

"This is a nicely made bed that is easy to assemble. However, we were greatly disappointed by the fact it was not a pure white as pictured on the website. It is more of an antique white. It is also too tall for our 2 year old even with mattress only."
