"I got these dishes for Christmas. They're lovely, and exactly what i was looking for. I've seen that a few people have commented that on several of the dishes, the glaze was cracked. That's the same for me, as well. However, you can't FEEL the cracks in the glaze, so they are non-porous cracks; if that makes any sense. The cracks are under the glaze--like maybe one layer of the glaze cracked. It kind of adds charm to the plates--they're very "old world" looking--i love them."

"I bought a service for 12; 8 months ago. I love them. I banged them off the granite and nothing happened. Have had no chips at all. The best and most beautiful dishes. Highly recommend!! I have all the pieces. I wish there were more pieces to the set."

"I am so disappointed in these dishes. I saved up and bought them last December, 2007. All pieces have chips, cracks or have broken completely. I got rid of my other dishes that I had for the last 18 years without a break or chip."

"These dishes are not dishwasher, microwave, oven proof as they state on the bottom. The glaze cracked within the 1st few weeks of using. I bought 2 sets and the mugs in one set were a completely different shade of yellow. For a name like Chris Madden I expected a lot more!"

"When I purchase dinnerware I expect it to be able to with stand the normal bangs and bumps of usage and the dishwasher. I have only had this a few months and have many cracks, especially in the plates. so much so that I would not be surprised if there was a fault in the materials or something"
Pros love the look and coloring of the ivory w/accent

"I too love this stoneware!!! I bought three 16 piece sets, the completer set (platter, larger bowl and salt and pepper shakers) and the matching creamer and sugar bowl set today. It also has a matching set of cannisters, but I got the Foret cannisters.
Some of the items are only available in the store and the manager had to search around to find a store that still had the creamer set, but they did find one!! So if you have this set and want one I would suggest not hesitating as they are almost gone everywhere!!"

"I read the great reviews and ordered this set online only to receive it and realize that the finish on these dishes is done to make them look worn. My family thought that the glaze was coming off and it made it very unappetizing at meal time. Returned them and bought a different style at the store."

"I just received this set and just love it! It matches beautifully with the Foret canisters, serving trays, salt and pepper shakers, and two-tiered tray! The only thing it's missing are a sugar and creamer and a vegetable/pasta bowl! That would make it complete! I hope they add them!"
