"Product looks good and is what I wanted, but was not as easy to install as would have liked. The pre-drilled holes in the mounting/support brackets had been drilled crooked and had to be reworked for proper installation.
Other than that, the rod works and looks as expected.
"
Pros Good looking and works well.
Cons Some difficulty with installation.

"I ordered wooden drapery poles and accessories three times - each time they came in bowed.
I returned all except one because I had already put it up from
my first order of three before I realized the other two were bowed.
Good order service but his particular product was not good quality"

"I was very impressed with the looks and quality of this Rod! It is really a versatile rod that can be used with curtain hooks, Grommets, or tab top drapes! The rod itself is wood and can be easily cut to fit a more narrow window if needed!"

"I purchased 4 of these and unlike other reviewers, have not experienced issues with sliding. For the price, these rods meet my overall expectations. One rod was received damaged and JCP customer service was great; they sent a new rod out immediately. I was charged for the new set and returned the damaged one to the store.
Strongly suggest that you discard the hardware provided and use a stronger drywall anchor that can handle the weight of the draperies, especially if you plan to open and close the draperies which would add stress to the installation.

Pros price
Cons supplied hardware too wimpy

"I am very impressed with this product. It goes well with the decor in the room. It was easy to install. My favorite feature is that it glides so easily when I open and close the drapes. I will not buy drapes anywhere except JCPenney, and now I can say the same about the curtain rod. I love it!"

Need to measure correctly
Posted November 5, 2012
When you order curtain rods, the length given in the description is the exact length of the curtain rod. You have to also measure your window and and where you want the rod placed on the window and then order the length of curtain rod that will work for you. There are measuring instructions on the JCP sebsite.
A 6 ft. rod will always only barely cover a 6 ft window, no matter what kind of rod you order.

"I ordered the 8 foot to go above a sliding glass door. The installation is tricky. The slides do not glide easily and you have to tug on the drape several times to get them to move. I would recommend a different rod for patio door use."

"I purchased these for use in my family room and kitchen which has a total of 2 double windows, 2 single windows, and a patio door, so this was not a small investment. They installed almost effortlessly. The best part was for our windows that almost meet at a right angle. We were able to cut the rods and miter the ends so they met in the corner which gives a beautiful, professional look. In addition, we were able to install the center brackets on the 8 foot rods to support from the top so we could use a patio door panel. This is an excellent product and well worth the investment. They also come with extra hardware in case the connectors holding the drapery hooks break."
Pros They are easily cut to fit almost any window, and they install easily.
Cons None that I found.

"These look good up and we easily trimed the length 4" to fit our area.. They should be sturdy enough. The only possible problem may come later. The little "eyes" that the curtain hooks go into are plastic and I wonder how much pulling to open and close the draperies these will take. The package does include "extra" which tells me there could be a problem. Hope I can find the extras when and if I need them!"
Pros Look good up and went up easily. Trimed to fit easily

How convenient it is to trim the lenght?
Posted November 11, 2011
Hello Kovie,
Your review is relly helpful to me. I am looking to put this on rod on 37 inch wide window (including trim i.e glass is 32 and trim width on each side is 2.5). and the left and right wall width are only 1 inch. (its Bay window). I thereforre cannot go for anything more than 40 inches. This said, I was planning on buying 4' length wooden pol traverse rod ( i really like these ones, and these are the only ones which perfectly meet my requirements). So my question is how convenient it is to cut the length from 48 to 40? Do you use some kind of saw? Please help me. Also want to know when they say 4' length, does it include the the left and right knobs in the said size, or they are extra? if 4' the length of actual usable portion for the curtains to slide?
Thanks for yoru help.

"I wanted a decorative rod but most importantlywanted a traverse rod so I could open & close the drapes by pulling the string at the end of the rod. These drapes are behind furniture and not easy to reach. But this traverse rod does not have a string to pull. It has plastic hoops with rollers inside the rod. The rod itself dose provide the decorative option I was looking for. However, so far every time I have opened or closed the curtains some of the drapery hooks have come out of the plastic hoops. Most disappointing has been the ease with which the drapes flow along the track. I would have been better off purchasing a regular rod and using hoops as I don't think I would have had to pull on the drapes so hard to get them open & close."

Cons doesn't work well
